About Abans Finance
Abans Finance PLC is a member of the prestigious Abans Group, a household name in Sri Lanka. Recognizing the potential for financial services in the country and the available resources at their disposal, the Abans Group decided to establish Abans Finance PLC. The Company commenced business initially as a Registered Finance Leasing Establishment under the Finance Leasing Act No. 56 of 2000 on 19 April 2006. The Company obtained the Finance Company license in terms of the Finance Companies Act of No. 78 of 1988 with an initial Stated Capital of LKR 382 Mn on 27 August 2007. Abans Finance PLC was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 2011.
Abans Finance PLC’s principal lines of business include Finance Leasing, Hire Purchase, Mortgage Loans, Personal Loans, Real Estate Development and acceptance of Time and Savings Deposits. The Company currently operates with Nine Branches, Nine Customer Centres and Four Kiosks in addition to the Head Office, whilst reaching customers via the strong island wide network of the Abans Group.

Obtained the Finance Company license in terms of the Finance Companies Act of No. 78 of 1988 with an initial Stated Capital of Rs. 382 Million.

The company was opened for business at its registered office No. 498, Galle Road, Colombo 3, the premises of Abans Ltd with around 10 employees.

The effective implementation of the Company's governance practices is supported by a committed Board of Directors which comprises of Non-Executive, Independent Non-Executive and Executive Directors.
The separation of the Board's supervisory role from the management and the structure based on Board Sub Committees, which are chaired by Non-Executive Directors and Independent Non-Executive Directors, strengthens the corporate governance framework.

The Committees are governed by a Board approved Terms of Reference, which are reviewed periodically.
